With its dramatic cliffs plunging into the ocean, the landscapes of Etretat are the best known of this atypical region in France. Nature occupies Normandy in a constant way, blending into the landscape to offer quite astonishing scenarios. This is true of Mont Saint Michel and its abbey, which overlooks the entire bay, transforming into an island as the tides change. Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, a visit to this site is a must. So are the villages of Trouville, Deauville and Honfleur on the flowery coast, and of course the village of Giverny which so inspired the artist Monet. Seafood and apples, local cider and calvados, and of course butter, lots of butter! Our trip will go further to the border of Bretagne, to taste the marvelous Cancale oysters and meet a famous chef who’s been travelling a lot to find the most valuable spices around the globe.
